New Year Plant Hunt Tuesday 1st January 2019 Falmouth

The Botanical Cornwall Group has organised a ‘New Year Plant Hunt’ on Tuesday 1st January 2019 in Falmouth, West Cornwall, to find as many wild or naturalised species in flower as we can. Meet at Gyllyngvase long stay car park at SW80763173 – free in winter – on the west end of Cliff Road, opposite Queen Mary Gardens, at 10 am 1st Jan 2019. We should finish around 2pm, or later if we have more breaks, so please bring a packed lunch and weatherproof clothing and footwear in case the weather is cold, wet and windy.

The hunt at Falmouth will contribute towards the eighth BSBI New Year Plant Hunt which runs from Saturday 29th December 2018 to Tuesday 1st January 2019. Observations each year are helping BSBI build up a clearer picture of how wild or naturalised plants are responding to changes in autumn and winter weather patterns across Britain and Ireland.
