GODREVY FARM TRIP ON SUNDAY 23RD AUGUST CANCELLED DUE TO EXTREME DRY CONDITIONS

The trip to GODREVY FARM has been cancelled due to the extreme dry conditions that have dried up much of the vegetation along the coast.

All walks start at 10am (try to get to the meeting place by 9.30am) and usually finish at around 4pm, or earlier. Suitable clothing and footwear recommended, and bring a packed lunch. Leader/contact for all walks is Ian Bennallick unless stated otherwise. Note that car parks are not always free. Make sure you have enough change or cards for car park fees if needed. Sunday 23^rd August – Godrevy Farm SW54. A walk around the farm with Steve Sudworth the National Trust Lead Ranger for Godrevy to St Agnes. The National Trust is now in full control of the farm after years of intensive arable. Several fields are being farmed as less intensive arable in a more nature-friendly way, and some fields are being converted to wild flower meadows. Sunday 30^th August – Rospannel Farm, near St Buryan SW32. A visit to a traditionally managed farm with kind permission of Bernard Hocking. Meet at Rospannel Farm SW39042629. Sunday 13^th September – Rocky Valley to Barras Nose SX08. Coastal walk to look for an old site for Asparagus prostratus between Bossiney Haven and Lye Rock. Meet in layby on B3263 road east of Bossiney at SX07258900, what 3words; overused.limo.polished
