Botanical Cornwall Group meetings July/August/September 2026

All walks start at 10am (try to get to the meeting place by 9.30am) and usually finish at around 4pm, or earlier. Suitable clothing and footwear recommended, and bring a packed lunch. Leader/contact for all walks is Ian Bennallick unless stated otherwise. Note that car parks are not always free. Make sure you have enough change or cards for car park fees if needed. Sunday 12th July – Treen SW32/SW42. A coastal walk from Porth Curno to Penberth Cove.We may see Limonium loganicum, named afterLogan Rock.Meet at paying car park in Treen SW39462298, what3words; excellent.muffin.knees

Sunday 19th July – Polcoombe, near Polperro SX15/SX25. A visit to a valley where over 20 years ago trees were planted and since then the whole valley is being rewilded. A marshy area may have Cornish Moneywort and Wavy St John’s-wort. Sunday 2nd August – Lostwithiel SX15. A walk around the town area and along the river to Shirehall Moor. Meet in free car park SX10495988, what3words; expiring.glare.awesome

Sunday 9th August – Red Moor and Creney Farm SX06. A walk into wetland that has been modified by Beaver and to check on new pools and scrapes in the Cornwall Wildlife Trust owned Creney Farm. Sunday 16th August – Sandymouth SS21. Coastal walk. Meet in National Trust car park at SS20481001, what3words pictures.poker.alley

Sunday 23rd AugustGodrevy Farm SW54. A walk around the farm with Steve Sudworth the National Trust Lead Ranger for Godrevy to St Agnes. The National Trust is now in full control of the farm after years of intensive arable. Several fields are being farmed as less intensive arable in a more nature-friendly way, and some fields are being converted to wild flower meadows.
